What is Direct 2 Management?
-
Direct 2 Management (D2M) is a Management Training Program offered on-base that seeks to transfer military experience and leadership skills into a civilian career. It is one of the programs offered through Troop Transition International. We partner with the industry's best companies to provide job opportunities prior to your separation from the military. Back to FAQ
How does Direct 2 Management work?
-
Direct 2 Management is under agreement with a number of top Transportation and Logistics companies that have demonstrated their commitment, support, and understanding of the needs of transitioning servicemen and women. D2M's program attempts to eliminate post-service uncertainty - our goal is that you will be trained and employed prior to your EAS (should you choose to accept the job offer). We take your military leadership, experience and training as a baseline, help develop a more complete skill set and provide you with additional tools to be a more effective and successful supervisor or manager. What does no "out of pocket" really mean?
- Direct 2 Management will cost you nothing! Our management-training program is operated in conjunction with our partner Palomar College and with that in mind, we utilize the Tuition Assistance benefits available to active duty military personnel rather than ask you to pay for this program. Upon enrollment, our staff will provide you with the necessary form(s) to complete and submit to the base education office.
The Tuition Assistance provided to you by the Department of Defense is determined by your GT Score (Active Duty and Reservists). If you
are a National Guardsman you will receive Tuition Assistance based on slightly different criteria, but again we will assist you through
the entire process. Rest assured, we will never ask for funds from your pocket!
If you are denied for TA due to already holding a previous college degree, scholarship money may be available on a space available basis. Please let us know your situation. Back to FAQ
What is Tuition Assistance?
-
Tuition Assistance is a free Department of Defense benefit that you may draw on while an active duty serviceman. It is in place to help you with "next" career and educational opportunities and it's an annual "use or lose" benefit. You do not pay into Tuition Assistance (as you do with your MGIB account). This money is paid directly to the program(s) you select - you will never write us a check. The Department of Defense requires that you pass the course (whether it be the D2M course or any other approved course) in order to utilize your Tuition Assistance dollars. In our case, that means complete and graduate the D2M course. We ask your commitment and dedication towards our program in order for you to successfully graduate. If your orders change and you can't complete the course, we'll work with you within the guidelines of the TA program to ensure that you are not penalixed for your service. We're serious when we say NO COST. Back to FAQ.
